Ingredients for Upma Recipe

Semolina(Rava) - 2 cups
Onion(medium) - 2 nos
Green Chillies - 3 - 4 nos
Ginger - 1/2 inch long
Salt - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - A few
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Ghee - 2 tsp
Coriander leaves - A little





Preparation Method of Upma Recipe
1)Heat the rava till it becomes light brown and keep it aside. 2)Heat the ghee and fry the mustard seeds. 3)Add curry leaves, chopped onions, slit chillies, crushed ginger and coriander leaves to it and fry for 2 minutes. 4)Add 2 and a half cups of water and the reqd salt and leave it to boil. 5)Add rava to the boiling water little by little, stirring the water properly. 6)Cook until it is soft and thick. :- Upma is ready. :- Serve upma hot with coconut chutney.

Comments	Hi Pinky ..u sure have a lot o recipes...I am(was) a hobbyist myself..now that i am working i dont get 2 try out new items..this recipe is one of my favourites..as a friday morning special(holiday)..i just top it with bullseye fried in butter and...:)

Comments	A nice variation is to add 1 grated carrot after sauteing the onions & green chillies; even very tender french beans (3-4) chopped fine added to this tastes nice.To make it rich you can add nuts & raisins while frying these. I find it better to add pre roasted semolina to the fried veggies,stir for a minute & pour boiling water into it.( 2 cups water for 1cup semolina).Simmer covered for 2 minutes. Then open & stir gently.(try & comment )
