instead of using pepper powder u can add whole pepper in the mixture.

VERY EASY TO FOLLOW AND VERY TASTY.

Add some Rice powder to batter and mix it well, it`s good for both making crispy and tasty.good recipe,thank u verymuch for more information.

Very nice recipe. In my experience Coconut Oil is the best for frying medium. Addition of pepper is must since it adds to a special taste and feeling for the vada

Hi the recipe is really good.I think we can avoid sodapowder and pepper.Just add small cut onions,greenchillis,curry leaves and coriander leaves with salt.Also 1 hr is not enough for soaking uraddal.The more you soak the more tastier it will be.I usually soak for 8 hrs and you get terrific meduvadas.People,please encourage the people who post recipes,they take effort in submitting the recipe.It is very rude.

I have seen the recipe of uzhunnu vada in many sites, But the soaking(urad dal) time is different in each site.. Is 1hr okay???

this is a good recipe. if the uzhunnu parippu is ground too nicely, it will absorb a lot of oil. so a medium grinding is enough. and do not add onions if vada is made for more than one day. onion will spoil things fast. and mr thoma, u r asked to rate the recipe not the language.
if u r not getting things u can check the ingredient transalations.
anyway this recipe is a very good one.

Mr.Thoma should not be going through the recipes in this site if you feel that the recipes are grammatically not correct. Inspite of appreciating the effort people take to post the recipes onsite, there are quite a few who try to find happiness in insulting their effort. Mr. Thoma, dont you think it`s high time to discard the typical malayali nature ?

- Insted of using pepper powder, you can use roasted and coarsly powdered pepper corns.
- If the mixture becomes a little watery on adding salt, add a couple of spoons of rice powder. it makes the vadas both crispier and soaks up the water.

Can anybody tell me how to reduce the oil in this? When i made this, it is catching a lot of oil. Will adding some maida help?

In this receipe pls add small onion instead of big onion it will become tasty .and no need for pepper powder ok

recipe is not correct. y shld we add soda pwdr and onion to uzhunnu dough. omit these and try to make it. always remember to add salt just before u start making vada otherwise dough will be watery.

Recepie is good but measurements are confusing.Will do good if there was a picture.

This site contains a lot of recipes. I give credit for the hard work. But i have noticed that the recipes posted on this site is not written very well. A lot of recipes in this site, it seems steps are skipped and if the steps are present then the way it is written is not grammatically correct. It seems they are using mixed enlgish, malayalam and english, mangleesh on certain recpies. It would help to have someone do a good job in writing the recpie.

Also pictures tell a thousand words. It would be really nice to have pictures put up for certain complicated recpies. Thank you and keep up the good work.
