Basundi is an Indian dessert mostly in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka. This is a rich and delicious dessert of thickened milk, very similar to the north indian rabdi. Almonds and pistachios add crunch to this creamy sweet.

  • Sweetened condensed milk 1tin
  • Full fat milk 5cups
  • Cardamom(powdered )) – 5no
  • Cashew(chopped )) – 12
  • Pistachio(chopped )) – 15
  • Almonds(chopped )) – 12
  • Saffron 4stands
  1. Add milk and condensed milk in a saucepan, stir and mix well. Heat this mixture on a low flame and bring to a gentle boil.
  2. Keep on stirring at intervals till this mixture begin to thicken. Scrape the milk solids from the sides and the cream collected on the top ,add it back to the mixture.
  3. Once the mixture is thickened (20 -25 min ) ,then add cardamom powder, chopped dry fruits, stir and simmer for a minute.
  4. Delicious Basundi is ready.Serve hot, warm or chilled garnished with saffron strands.
