- Biryani rice(rinsed) - 2 cups
- Mussels - 1 kg
- Onions(finely sliced) - 4 nos
- Tomatoes(chopped) - 3 nos
- Ginger(garlic paste - 3 tbsp) -
- Green chillies(slit) - 4 nos
- Garam masala - 2 tsp
- Curd - 1/2 cup
- Curry leaf - 4 springs
- Coriander leaves(chopped) - 7 springs
- Mint leaves - 2 springs
- Lemon juice - 5 tbsp
- Chilly powder - 4 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Ghee(As reqd) -
- Oil(As reqd) -
- Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
- Marinate the mussels with salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and 2 tbsp chilly powder for 1 hour. 3)Heat oil in a frying pan and fry mussels till it becomes brown in colour. Keep it aside.
- In the same deep frying pan, pour in the ghee and saute onions till it becomes light brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste, salt and green chillies. Saute it on low flame for 2 minutes.
- Then add in the tomatoes, turmeric powder, chilly powder, garam masala and curry leaves. Continue to sautT it on low flame till the oil separates.
- Add in the curd, fried mussels, coriander leaves and mint leaves. Allow it to simmer on low flame for 5 minutes and remove it from the flame.
- Allow it cook on low flame till the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
- Garnish with lemon juice.
- Biriyani rice with mussel masala is ready. Serve mussel masala with rice immediately.
