  • Ingredients for Biryani –
  • Chicken(cleaned and cut into small pieces) –
  • Onion(big) – 3nos
  • Ginger 1″piece
  • Garlic pods – 6nos
  • Poppy seeds(Khashakhasha) – 1tbsp
  • Mint leaves(A bunch, Pudhina) –
  • Coriander leaves(A bunch) –
  • Curry leaves(A bunch) –
  • Yoghurt/curd – 4cups
  • Salt(As reqd) –
  • Garam masala 3tsp
  • Lime juice – 1/2a
  • Basmati rice – 3cups
  • Cashew nuts(As reqd) –
  • Oil(As reqd) –
  • Saffron(A few strands) –
  • Milk 4
  1. Preparation Method for Biryani 1)Soak basmati rice for 20 mins.
  2. Grind together garlic, ginger and poppy seeds into a fine paste.
  3. Grind together mint leaves, coriander leaves and curry leaves into a fine paste.
  4. Take a vessel and place the chicken in it.
  5. Add salt, the above pastes, curd, lime juice and garam masala.
  6. Mix it well and marinate it for 1 hr.
  7. Grind cashews into a fine paste.
  8. Cut onions in rings and fry them, until they are golden brown.
  9. Place the above fried onions in a separate bowl.
  10. Cook basmati rice by adding water to it separately in a vessel.
  11. :- Keep in mind that rice must be cooked 3/4th only.
  12. Heat oil in the same pan used for frying onions.
  13. Add some fried onions, cashews paste and the marinated chicken.
  14. Cook, until it is done.
  15. Take a big vessel and place one layer of rice followed by chicken and onions.
  16. Sprinkle the saffron milk.
  17. Continue this, until it is done.
  18. Place the vessel on stove and cook for 10 mins on a low flame.
  19. :- Biryani is ready.
