Bread Halwa Easy
Bread halwa, a yummy favorite with kids, is prepared by soaking bread slices in khoya, milk, other ingredients and later frying the bread mixture

  • Bread slices – 5nos
  • Milk 1/2cup
  • Khoya – 4tbsp
  • Sugar(powdered) – 15g
  • Cardamom powder(A pinch) –
  • Raisins 1/2cup
  • Nuts – 2tbsp
  • Refined oil 1/4cup
  • Ghee 1tbsp
  1. First pour khoya and milk into a large bowl. Mix well.
  2. Stir in bread slices into the milk together with cardamom powder, nuts and raisins.
  3. Allow the bread pieces to become soft and crush any bread lumps if present.
  4. Put some oil in a hard bottomed pan, and pour the bread mixture.
  5. Fry the bread mixture in low heat till brown in color.
  6. Cook till oil separates from bread mixture.
  7. Add ghee to the fried bread mixture before removing from heat.
  8. Garnish with dry fruits like cashew nuts or pistas.
  9. Bread halwa, a favorite with kids as well as elders, is ready.
