Cabbage Thoran – Easy To Make
Cabbage Thoran is a tasty, indispensable stir fry dish in all Sadhyas as well as regular meals. While making Thoran, you can go in for a lot of flavorful combinations but the unavoidable ingredient is coconut. Kerala is rich in coconuts and hence Cabbage Thoran is one such dish that has stolen the heart of Keralites. Cabbage is a green leafy vegetable rich in nutrients essential for human body. You can explore an easy to prepare Cabbage Thoran well illustrated in simple meaningful steps. The traditional dish goes well with white hot rice. Chopped cabbage mixture is mixed well with hands before cooking and this makes the dish unique and interesting. Cooked Cabbage Thoran is sautéed well with open lid in low flame for a few minutes until done.

  1. Chop finely the cabbage, onions and green chillies.
  2. Mix well together the above chopped items, grated coconut, salt and turmeric powder.
  3. :- Mix using your hands for best results.
  4. Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  5. Splutter mustard seeds and saute dry red chillies and curry leaves.
  6. Add the cabbage-coconut mixture and mix well.
  7. Cover and cook for 3 mins.
  8. Remove the lid and keep it on flame, till Cabbage Thoran is done.
  9. Cabbage Thoran is ready, Enjoy it with rice or chapathi.
