Ingredients
  • Chicken breast fillets(chopped) – 675g
  • Onion(finely chopped) – 1no
  • Tomatoes(chopped) – 400g
  • Capsicum(finely chopped, green) – 1no
  • Capsicum(finely chopped, red) – 1no
  • garlic(crushed) – 2cloves
  • Ginger(paste) – 1/2inch
  • Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) – 1tsp
  • Curry paste – 1tbsp
  • Chilly powder – 1/4tsp
  • Coriander powder 1tsp
  • Cumin seeds(powdered) – 1tsp
  • Coriander leaves(finely chopped) – 2springs
  • Oil 2tbsp
  • Salt(As reqd) –
Instructions
  1. For preparing chicken jhalfrezi, heat the oil in a large pan and fry the cumin seeds until they they splutter.
  2. Add the onion, capsicums(red and green), garlic and ginger. Fry for 8 minutes on low flame.
  3. Then add the curry paste and sautT for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, salt and 1 tbsp of water. Mix well.
  5. Toss in the chicken and stir-fry for 5 minutes.
  6. Then add the tomatoes and coriander leaves. Cook covered until the chicken is tender.
  7. Garnish with a spring of fresh coriander.
  8. Chicken jhalfrezi is ready. Serve hot with rice or naan.
