Ingredients
- Chicken(cubed) - 1/2 kg
- Onions(finely cubed) - 2 nos
- Cinnamon(Karugapatta) - 1 inch
- Cloves(Grambu) - 2 nos
- Tomato(chopped) - 1 no
- Potato(peeled and cubed) - 1 no
- Ginger(garlic paste - 1 tsp) -
- Red chillies(chopped) - 2 nos
- Green chillies(slit) - 2 nos
- Coconut milk(1st milk) - 1 cup
- Coconut milk(2nd milk) - 2 cups
- Lemon juice - 5 tbsp
- Coriander leaves(chopped) - 1/2 cup
- Coconut oil(As reqd) -
- Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
- For preparing chicken stew with hoppers, first heat coconut oil in a vessel. Saute in cinnamon, cloves, red chillies, green chillies, onions, ginger-garlic paste and salt for 2 minutes on low flame.
- Add in the chicken and sautT it for 1 minute.
- Pour in the 2nd coconut milk and add in pepper powder. Allow it to boil, then lower the flame and allow it to simmer till the chicken is done.
- Chicken stew with plain hoppers/vella appam is ready. Serve plain hoppers with chicken stew.
