  • Red amaranth(Chuvanna cheera) – 1kg
  • Onion(chopped) – 1/2cup
  • Rice – 1tsp
  • Curry leaves 1stem
  • Chilly powder – 2tsp
  • Coconut(grated) – 1/4cup
  • Salt(As reqd) –

  • Pacha Cheera(Green Amaranth) also can be prepared in the same method –
  1. For preparing chuvanna cheera roast, first clean, wash the cheera and cut into small pieces.
  2. Heat a frying pan, add some oil and then put rice into the oil.
  3. Add the chopped onion into the oil. Put chilly powder and salt into the mix. Stir the mix well.
  4. Add the cut cheera and stir the mix well. Allow to cook the mix in steam(please avoid using water directly to cook the mix).
  5. When the mix is cooked, add grated coconut, stir it for 2-3 minutes and take it out from the stove.
  6. Cheera roast is ready and can be served with chappathi, rice etc.
