Ingredients
- Basmati rice(rinsed) - 1 cup
- Tamarind juice - 1/2 cup
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Split chick peas - 4 tbsp
- Peanuts - 6 tbsp
- Cashew nuts - 5 tbsp
- Turmeric powder(A pinch) -
- Dry red chillies(broken) - 3 nos
- Cloves(Grambu) - 3 nos
- Bay leaf(Karuga ela) - 1 no
- Cinnamon(Karugapatta) - 1 inch
- Curry leaves - 2 springs
- Water - 2 cups
- Ghee(As reqd) -
- Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
- Add in mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
- Then toss in cloves, cinnamon, bay leaf, turmeric powder and dry red chillies. Mix it well.
- Toss in the basmati rice and sautT it for 1 minute on low flame.
- Garnish with curry leaves, roasted cashew nuts, peanuts and split chick peas.
- Easy tamarind rice is ready. Serve hot with any gravy.
