- Cooked rice(As reqd) -
- White fish fillets - 675 g
- All purpose flour(Maida) - 4 tbsp
- Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
- Oil(As reqd) -

For the sauce:
- Ginger(finely sliced) - 1 inch
- garlic(grated) - 3 cloves
- Onion(cut into fine rings) - 1 no
- Carrot(peeled and cubed) - 1 no
- Corn flour - 1 1/2 tbsp
- Water - 450 ml
- Red chilly(finely chopped) - 1 no
- Thyme(chopped) - 1 tbsp
- Parsley(chopped) - 1 tbsp
- Chives(chopped) - 1 tbsp
- Brown sugar - 1 tbsp
- Vinegar - 1 tbsp
- Fish sauce - 1 tsp
- Spring onion(chopped) - 1 spring

Instructions
- For preparing fish in spicy sauce, dab the fish fillets with a kitchen towel and keep it aside.
- In a bowl mix in maida, salt and pepper powder. Then dust the fillets with the maida mixture.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the fish fillets till it becomes golden brown in colour.
- Add carrot and fry it for 1 minute.
- In another small bowl, mix in corn flour and add a little of the water to make a lump free paste.
- Then add in the remaining water, vinegar, thyme, chives, parsley and brown sugar. Mix it well and pour the corn flour mixture into the deep frying pan. Mix it until the sauce starts to boil and it becomes thick.
- Add in the fish sauce, salt and pepper.
- Toss in the fried fish fillets into the sauce and heat without mixing it.
- Garnish with red chilly and spring onions.
- Fish in spicy sauce is ready. Serve with cooked rice.
