Fish(washed and drained) –

Instructions
For preparing fish in
tomato
sauce, first smear the fish pieces with a paste of
pepper powder
,
turmeric
and
salt
. Keep aside for a few minutes.
Heat
oil
in a pan and fry the marinated fish pieces to a golden brown color.
Meanwhile, cook the
tomato
pieces in 1/2 cup
water
and extract the puree through a sieve. Keep this aside.
Grind the skins of
red chillies
,
ginger
,
garlic
and
turmeric
to a fine paste. Keep the masala paste aside.
Heat
oil
in a frying pan and fry thinly sliced 1/4 cup of onions. When the onions are browned, add the masala paste and
onion
pieces which are cut round. Saute well.
Pour vinegar,
tomato
puree,
soya bean
sauce, 1/2 cup
water
and add required
salt
.
Allow the curry to boil and add the fried fish pieces. Season with
sugar
and remove from fire when the gravy thickens.
Fish in
tomato
sauce is ready. Serve hot.
