Red chilli powder(As required only if want to make Chips Spicy) –
Coconut/Refined Oil(As required to deep fry the Chips) –
Peel the potatoes, cut them in thin, round shapes into a vessel in which normal water is kept.
Wash the potato pieces and remove water completely from the pieces by using a sieve and keep them aside for some time to dry.
Heat oil in a cheenachatti/frying pan and add the cleaned potato pieces into the hot oil in small quantities and stir it properly. Also add required quantity of saltwater in the oil carefully.
When colour of the potato pieces turn into golden, take them out and keep in a dry vessel. If necessary, add some red chilli powder also so that the chips will become spicy. Spicy Homemade Potato Chips Indian Style is ready to serve. Store the Chips in an air tight container so that it can stay fresh for longer time.
