Idly Upma (Step By Step Photos)
The left over idlies from breakfast can be reused if people do not prefer eating idly in more than one meal time.

  • Idly – 5
  • Onion(medium sized) – 2
  • Red chili – 2
  • Curry leaves(little) –
  • Toor daal – 2ts
  • Mustard – 2ts
  • Oil to fry –
  • Salt to taste –
  1. Take idly in a vessel
  2. Crush the idlies to get loose consistency and keep it aside
  3. Chop the onions and cut the chillies into two
  4. Heat oil in a kadai.
  5. When the oil is heated add mustard and wait till it spurts
  6. Toor dhal is added now and fried till the color changes to golden brown
  7. To this add onions, chillies, curry leaves and sautT till the color of the onion changes. Add salt.
  8. Finally add the idly mixture and toss for 5 minutes
  9. Serve hot with sugar or idly side dishes or sauce
