This is a famous recipe in kumbakonam. This is good combo for all breakfast like idly dosa and chapathi , poori.etc. In kadappa, we use different ingredients. coconut and moong dal is combined in this recipe which gives more thickness and taste too.

  • Carrot 2
  • Potato 2
  • Peas – 1/4cup
  • Moong dal – 1/2cup
  • Onions – 2
  • Tomato 1
  • TO GRIND –
  • Coconut 1cup
  • Roasted Channa Dal – 1/2cup
  • Green chili – 5
  • Funnel seed – 1tsp
  • Star anise 1
  • Dagad Phool – 1
  • Oil 2tblsp
  • Salt(as tatse) –
  1. Grind all the ingredients which is in tables and keep aside
  2. Boil all vegetables and moong dal and keep aside
  3. Chop onions and tomato and keep aside
  4. In pan add oil saute Onions and add water
  5. Add tomato and cook for 2 mins
  6. Now add grind paste and mix it well and cook till raw smell goes
  7. Now add Vegetables and dal mix it well andcook for some more mins add salt and bring to boil and turn off
  8. Now its ready to serve Kadappa
