Kalyana Rasam
Kalyana Rasam is very tangy and delicious rasam in south indian recipes. This rasam we generally do in marriage function so its called kalyana rasam. its fresh grinding rasam powder and adding all new glossary items in this marriage function so its give more fresh aromatic flavor. We firstr cook tomato and tamarind water with garlic and jaggery then last we adding that fresh grind powder and cooked toor dal so we wont boil much more time with this dal and powder . This kalyana rasam podwer can store in container and we can use but the freshness of aroma is reduce after regular use . So when ever you need this rasam with freshness of this aromatic rasam can do regular grind of this powder. in this tomato and tamrind and jaggery gives combined sweetness and sour and tangy to this rasam. here this corainder and methi seeds gives some additional flavor to this rasam.   • Tomato 2number
  • Tamarind(soak win water) – 1pices
  • garlic 4string
  • Coriander seed – 1tsp
  • red dhilli – 3number
  • Jeera – 1/2tsp
  • Pepper – 1/2tsp
  • termeric – 1/4tsp
  • Asafoetida – 1/2tsp
  • methi / fenugreek – 1/4tsp
  • Curryleaves – 2string
  • Jaggery 1small pices
  • Salt 1tsp
  • Ghee 1tsp
  • Mustard – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves(for garnishing) – 1tbsp
  • Toor dal(cooked) – 1/4cup
  1. In pan add coriander seed red chili, methi, jeera, pepper and curry leaves roast well don’t more. just aroma comes turn off and allow too cool
  2. crush garlic and keep aside and cook toor dal
  3. In pan add chopped tomato and curry leaves turmeric powder and crushed garlic and water boil for 2 mins
  4. Now add tamarind water and bring to boil for 2 mins
  5. Now add jaggery while boiling
  6. In mean time grind that roasted items. grind coarse
  7. Now add salt and that grind rasam powder
  8. boil till its forthy
  9. Now add cooked toor dal and mix well and turn off the rasam
  10. In temper pan add ghee and when its hot add mustard and asafoetida and pour in rasam
  11. Now its ready to serve with hot rice
