  1. For preparing Kappalanga(Papaya) Thoran, first remove the outer skin and the seeds inside the papaya.
  2. Clean it well and finely chop it.
  3. :- You can also grate it.
  4. Pound grated coconut, green chillies, turmeric powder, cumin seeds and garlic in a mixer bowl.
  5. Mix the above with the finely chopped papaya and salt.
  6. Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  7. Splutter mustard seeds and saute dry red chillies, rice and curry leaves.
  8. Add the papaya-coconut mixture and mix well.
  9. Cover and cook in a low flame.
  10. Stir occasionally.
  11. After 2 to 3 minutes, remove the lid and stir well.
  12. Continue to cook, till Kaplanga Thoran is done.
  13. Kaplanga Thoran, a nutritious side dish is ready.
