King Fish in a Spicy Masala

  • King Fish – 1kg
  • Onions(thinly sliced) – 2nos
  • Tomatoes – 1no
  • garlic 5pods
  • Ginger 1inch
  • Cinnamon – 1inch
  • Cumin – 1tsp
  • Kashmiri chilli powder 1tbsp
  • Pepper crushed – 1tsp
  • Salt(as reqd) –
  • Tamarind juice(squeeze it out of tamarind of a size of gooseberry) –
  • cilantro(to garnish) –
  1. Cook the Fish pieces in the tamarind juice with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and saute onions, tomatoes, ginger and garlic(ginger and garlic should be ground).
  3. Add cumin, cinnamon and saute well.
  4. Add chilli powder, pepper and salt.
  5. Add the cooked fish pieces with the remaining tamarind juice to it.
  6. Cover and simmer on low heat. :- Let the gravy get dry and thick.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with cilantro.
