Lentils with tomato puree makes a healthy creamy soup

Ingredients
  • Lentils(ground) – 250g
  • Margarine – 50g
  • Tomato puree – 25g
  • Tomatoes(chopped) – 2nos
  • Onions(chopped) – 2
  • garlic(crushed) – 1clove
  • Rice – 100g
  • Baharat(spice blend) – 2tsp
  • Lemon – 1no
  • Water 1litre
  • Salt(As reqd) –
Instructions
  1. For preparing lentil arabic soup, boil the lentils in 1 litre of water.
  2. Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon and keep it aside.
  3. Heat margarine in a pan. SautT onions and garlic. Put this into the lentils and mix well.
  4. Add in tomato puree, baharat, tomatoes, salt, garlic and lemon juice into the lentils. Allow it to cook for 45 minutes without the lid.
  5. Add in the rice and cook for another 15 minutes.
  6. Lentil arabic soup is ready. Serve hot.
