For cake batter:
- All purpose flour(Maida) - 200 g
- Cocoa Powder - 25 g
- Baking powder - 2 tsp
- Butter - 200 g
- Sugar(powdered) - 300 g
- Eggs(beaten) - 4 nos
- Salt - 1/2 tsp
For the short crust pastry:
- All purpose four(Maida) - 200 g
- Butter - 100 g
- Cold water(As required) -
- Almonds(flaked) - 1/4 cup
- Wall nuts(chopped) - 1/4 cup

Instructions
- Cake Batter: 1)For preparing pastry chocolate cake, preheat oven at 180 degrees celcius.
- Sift together the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder and salt. Keep it aside.
- In a bowl beat butter till it becomes fluffy.
- Add in sugar slowly in the butter, mixing it till it dissolves.
- Then add the eggs one by one mixing it well.
- Slowly add in the maida little by little. Keep mixing it till it becomes smooth lump free batter. Keep it aside.
- Short Crust Pastry: 7)Put the flour in a bowl and rub in the butter, using your fingertips, the mixture should look like fresh breadcrumbs.
- Add cold water, 1 tbsp at a time, knead lightly to make a short crust pastry dough(like chappathi).
- Put the dough in a plastic bag and keep it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Roll the pastry on a floured surface to make a big circle. Place the rolled dough into the tin and trim the edges.
- Spoon the cake batter onto the pastry base.
- Sprinkle the flaked almonds and wall nuts on top.
- Bake at 200 degrees celsius for 30 minutes till done.
- Remove the cake from the oven, allow it to cool, then remove the cake from the tin.
- Pastry chocolate cake is ready. Cut into fingers and serve.
