Potatoes In Yogurt

  • Potatoes(peeled and finely cubed) – 450g
  • Onion seeds – 1/2tsp
  • Green chillies(slit) – 3nos
  • Onion(finely chopped, big) – 1no
  • Turmeric powder 1/2tsp
  • Coconut(grated) – 2tsp
  • Yogurt – 1tbsp
  • Tomatoes(chopped) – 2nos
  • Coriander leaves(finely chopped) – 2springs
  • Oil(As reqd) –
  • Salt(As reqd) –
  1. For preparing potatoes in yogurt, heat the oil in a vessel.
  2. Add in the onion seeds, green chilies and onion. Saute till the onion becomes golden brown in colour.
  3. Then add in turmeric powder, grated coconut and salt. Saute for 1 minute on low flame.
  4. Add the potato pieces into the pan. Stir fry gently for 5 minutes, until the potatoes become lightly golden.
  5. Pour a little water and allow it to cook in a closed vessel.
  6. Then pour in the yogurt, tomatoes and fresh coriander. Allow it to cook for 2 minutes and remove it from the flame.
  7. Potatoes in yogurt is ready. Serve as a side dish with rice.
