- Pumpkin(chopped, Mathanga) - 675 g
- Onion(finely chopped) - 1 no
- Tomato puree - 1 tbsp
- Tomatoes(chopped) - 400 g
- garlic(crushed) - 2 cloves
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Chilly powder - 1/4 tsp
- Garam masala - 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds(powdered) - 1 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Coriander leaves(finely chopped) - 2 springs
- Water - 150 ml
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
- Splutter cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
- Then add turmeric powder, chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt. Saute for 2 minutes.
- Add the pumpkin and half cook it.
- Then add in the tomato puree and chopped tomatoes into the pan. Mix well.
- Pour water and cover the pan. Allow it to simmer until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in the coriander leaves and garam masala. Allow it to cook for until the pumpkin becomes tender.
- Pumpkin in spicy tomato sauce is ready. Serve as a side dish.
