Ingredients
For the caramel:-
Sugar
–
3
tbsp
Water
–
1
tbsp
For the custard:-
Milk
(or 2 cups
milk
+ 1/2 cup condensed
milk
) –
500
ml
Eggs –
5
nos
Sugar
–
1
cup
Cardamom
(Elakka) –
1

Instructions
Grease an aluminium mould (or non stick) with butter or
ghee
.
Spread the 3 tbsp of
sugar
evenly on its base.
Heat the mould.
When the
sugar
starts turning brown, add 1 tbsp
water
and heat for a few seconds.
Keep the mould aside.
Add the
milk
, eggs,
sugar
, and
cardamom
into a mixie and blend well till frothy.
Strain the custard through a strainer and pour into the mould.
Steam for 5 – 10 mins or until set.
:- The steamer should have started steaming before placing the custard.
Chill in the freezer for 10 mins and then move it to the fridge.
Turn the pudding into a serving plate.
Decorate it with cherries or caramelised cashew nuts.
:- This is a very easy dessert and a definite success.
