  • rawa/semolina 1cup
  • Water(boiled) – 3cups
  • onions sliced – 2
  • ginger finely chopped – ½”pc
  • green chilies slit – 3-4
  • rye – ½tsp
  • Urad dal – ½tsp
  • Curry leaves 6-8
  • Sugar 1tsp
  • Cashewnuts(optional) – 7-8
  • Ghee 3-4tbsp
  • Salt
  • Chopped coriander leaves –
  1. Heat ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds/ rye. After it splutters add the urad dal and fry till it turns golden brown in color.
  2. Optional- Add cashews and by the time, the cashews get browned the dal would also get browned.
  3. Add the curry leaves, slit green chilies and finely chopped ginger and stir fry for a minute.
  4. Add the sliced onion and sautT for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the semolina/rawa and mix all the ingredients well. Roast the rawa for 10 minutes on a low flame, stirring all the while.
  6. After the rawa has been roasted well add the sugar, salt and boiling water.
  7. Cover the pan and leave to cook for 5 minutes or till the water has dried up.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
