- All purpose flour(Maida) - 200 g
- Baking powder - 2 tsp
- Butter - 200 g
- Sugar(powdered) - 200 g
- Eggs(beaten) - 4 nos
- Salt - 1/2 tsp

Instructions
- For preparing simple cake, preheat oven at 180 degrees celcius.
- Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Keep it aside.
- In a bowl beat butter till it becomes fluffy.
- Add in sugar slowly in the butter, mixing it till it dissolves.
- Then add the eggs one by one mixing it well.
- Slowly add in the maida little by little. Keep mixing till it becomes smooth lump free batter.
- Pour the batter into the baking tin and bake it for 40 minutes or till it becomes golden brown in colour. (Pierce the cake with a toothpick in the centre to check if it is cooked)
- Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely before removing it from the tin.
- Simple cake is ready.
