South Indian DryFish Gravy
Karuvadu Kulambu recipe is a very famous south Indian dry fish curry,which is served with rice,idly,dosai. i prepared this gravy in kolli karuvadu, we can use any dryfish with same base gravy

  1. Fry the onion with oil for 5 mins and make as a paste
  2. chop the onion, coconut, tomato,garlic. and prepare coconut paste, tamarind water
  3. heat the oil and temper the mustard, cumin seed and fenugreek seed
  4. now temper the red chilli and curry leaves
  5. add chopped onion and garlic and saute it for 5 mins, until it turn into brown
  6. add tomato and fry for 5 mins
  7. add salt, turmeric powder and sambar powder and mix well
  8. add tamarind water, mix it and allow to boil for 5 mins
  9. add chopped coconut and mix it
  10. add onion paste and mix well and allow to boil for 2 mins
  11. add chopped brinjal and allow to boil
  12. now add coconut paste and required water and allow to boil until the gravy get thick
  13. mean while clean and fry the dry fish in a pan for 2 mins
  14. add dry fish in the gravy and mix well and allow to boil for 2 mins
  15. now dry fish gravy is ready. serve with rice, idly and dosa
