  1. Wash soya chunks thoroughly. Soak it in enough hot water for ½ an hour. Squeeze out all the water well. Again wash in fresh water and squeeze out the water very well.
  2. Cut the soya chunk into 2 – 3 pieces and keep it aside.
  3. Heat oil in a kadai.
  4. Splutter cumin seeds. Add onion and a little salt and sautetill onion turns till light brown colour.
  5. Add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and fry till the raw smell goes.
  6. Add the chopped tomato and fry till it is cooked and oil separates on low heat.
  7. Add soya chunks and fry well for 5 minutes on low heat.
  8. :- Add more oil if necessary.
  9. Add 1 cup water and salt to taste and stir.
  10. Cover with a lid and allow to cook for 5 mins on a low flame.
  11. Transfer the contents to a serving bowl.
  12. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
