Instructions
For preparing spicy gooseberry curry, first heat some
oil
in a pan and saute gooseberries until cooked. Add shallots and
green chillies
and fry for a while. Remove the fried gooseberries and keep aside.
Meanwhile, grind the ingredients: grated
coconut
, chilly powder,
turmeric
,
mustard seeds
and
garlic
to a fine paste.
Heat the
oil
and splutter fenugreek and
curry leaves
.
Add the ground masala and fry well until
oil
accumulates on top.
Add fried gooseberries, shallots and
green chillies
. Pour required
tamarind
extract, asafoetida powder, vinegar and
salt
.
Boil the curry and simmer till thick and done.
Add
sugar
and remove spicy gooseberry curry from fire.
