Stuffed Banana Fry
Banana are stuffed with dry fruits and sandwiched. They are then dipped in batter and fried in oil

  • Bananas(Ethakka) – 5nos
  • Ghee 1tsp
  • Beaten rice(Aval) – 1cup
  • Raisins(Unakka munthiri) – 2tbsp
  • Cashew nuts – 2tbsp
  • All purpose flour(Maida) – 1cup
  • Cardamom powder(Elakka) – 1/2tsp
  • Water 1/4cup
  • Egg(beaten) – 1no
  • Salt(As reqd) –
  • Sugar 1tsp
  • Baking soda(A pinch) –
  • Oil(As reqd) –
  1. For preparing stuffed banana fry, peel the bananas and cut them into halves.
  2. Heat ghee. Roast beaten rice until it becomes slightly crispy.
  3. In the same oil fry the raisins and cashew nuts one by one.
  4. Make a thick batter with maida, cardamom powder, water, egg, salt, sugar and baking soda. Mix well and ensure there are no lumps.
  5. Take one half banana and layer with beaten rice and dry fruits mixture.
  6. Sandwich or close it with the other half. Do the same with the other bananas also.
  7. Heat oil in a pan, dip the banana sandwich in the batter and deep fry it till it becomes golden brown.
  8. Stuffed banana fry is ready. Serve hot.
