Stuffed Cauliflower – Tamil nadu style

  1. Remove the green leaves from the cauliflower, keeping the white portion intact.
  2. Boil some water with 1/2 tsp of salt.
  3. Plunge the cauliflower into the boiling water and cook for 2 – 3 mins.
  4. :- Care should be taken to see that it does not become too soft.
  5. Crush shelled peas and ginger.
  6. Cut onion into small pieces.
  7. Heat 1 spoon oil in a pan or a kadai.
  8. Saute onion.
  9. Add ginger and peas and cook on a very low fire for 5 mins.
  10. Stuff this mixture between the sprigs of the cauliflower from underneath.
  11. Make a very thick batter of coating consistency with 1 cup flour and 1/4 cup water.
  12. Add a pinch of chilly powder and salt to taste.
  13. Coat the stuffed cauliflower with this and cover with bread crumbs.
  14. Deep fry until golden brown.
  15. :- A wide kadai must be used for frying.
  16. :- Alternately, it may be coated with egg white and bread crumbs and fried.
  17. :- Minced meat may be used instead of peas.
