Thari Kachiyath / Thari Kanji
Thari Kanchi is a light sweetened hot drink made from milk with very little semolina and seasoned with nuts and raisins. Traditionally had while breaking the ramzan fast in the evening, it is supposed to settle the stomach.

  • Rava – 5tbsp
  • Milk 1/2litre
  • Water 1cup
  • Cardamom 3powdered
  • Sugar( according to your choice ) – 5tbsp
  • Salt(a pinch) –
  • Shallots – 1chopped
  • Cashew & raisins 6each
  • Ghee 2tbsp
  1. Roast the rava in a pan on low flame for one minute and keep it aside.
  2. Heat the milk in a saucepan along with water, salt and cardamom powder.
  3. When it starts to boil, add sugar and mix well. Then add the roasted rava slowly and stir well, and allows to boil. Switch off the flame.
  4. Heat ghee in a pan, add the chopped shallots and fry it. Then fry the cashews, raisins and pour this over the prepared Kanji.
  5. Thari Kachiyath / Thari Kanji is ready to serve. Serve hot.
