this kara paniyaram is usualy we do in our home. but in thiani(foxtail) its very differents and makes nice warming in the winter season and evening snack

  • Thinai(foxtail millets) – 1/2cups
  • Rice(idly) – 1/2cups
  • Urad dal – 1/4cups
  • To temper –
  • Onions – 1
  • Curry leaves(small amount) –
  • Coriander leaves(small amount) –
  • add channa dal 1 tsp –
  • Urad dal : 1 tsp –
  • Mustard : 1 tsp –
  • Oil as needed –
  1. Soak thinai (Foxtail millets) for two hours.
  2. Soak Rice and Urad together for two hours.
  3. Combine thinai , rice and urad dal grind the batter and add salt.keep aside for 2 to 3 hours .
  4. In pan add oil and put mustard seed and channa dal, half urad dal.
  5. Add onions and curry leaves and coriander leaves fry for few mins
  6. Mix the fried onions into batter and mix it well.
  7. Heat the paniyaram pan and add the batter in each whole, pour some oil
  8. Turn it back and add oil , cook for few mins each side by side upto golden brown colour comes
  9. Thiani Kara Paniyaram is ready serve with coconut chutneys.
