  1. For preparing Traditional Kottayam Style Kappa, first remove skin of tapioca and cut into small pieces. Cook tapioca pieces with salt and water until tapioca pieces are softened.
  2. Drain excess water and keep aside.
  3. Grind ingredients: coconut, green chillies, cumin powder, garlic, small onion and turmeric powder without water.
  4. Heat a kadai, put cooked tapioca and add ground ingredients on the top.
  5. Cover it with a lid for 2-3 minutes for the ground ingredients to cook.
  6. Open the lid, stir properly so that the coconut mix is evenly distributed.
  7. Season the dish with curry leaves. Serve it with red meat or fish curry. Traditional Kottayam Style Kappa is ready.
