Varutharacha Kanava Roast

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Squid cleaned
  • 6 nos Shallots kunjulli
  • 1/2 cup Coconut grated
  • 2 nos Onion chopped
  • 5 cloves Garlic chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 2 tsp Ginger grated
  • 3 nos Dry red chillies
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • Pepper As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing kanava varutharacha fry, first dry roast cumin, shallots and coconut.
  • Crush them in mixer.
  • Marinate squid with turmeric, chilly powder, coriander, garam masala and salt.
  • Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds, dry red chillies and curry leaves.
  • Add onion and fry till golden in color.
  • Add marinated squid and fry well.
  • Add the crushed coconut mix, cover and cook squid.
  • When done, fry and make it a roast. Add pepper according to taste.
  • Varutharacha kanava roast is ready.
