Vada Paavo

Ingredients
  

  • 9 nos Potatoes cooked and mashed
  • 6 nos Curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 3 nos Green chillies paste
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • 2 cups Gram flour/Besan
  • 1 cup Tamarind chutney
  • 1 cup Mint chutney Puthina
  • Ground nut garlic chutney - 1/2 cup
  • 6 nos Paav buns
  • Oil As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing vada paavo, mix gram flour and salt with required water to make a thick paste. Keep it aside.
  • Add ginger, garlic, chilly paste and required salt to the mashed potatoes. Mix well.
  • Splutter mustard seeds in oil. Add in curry leaves, turmeric powder and the mashed potato mixture. Mix well.
  • Make lemon sized balls out of it. Dip each ball in gram flour paste and deep fry it in oil.
  • Take the bun and slice it in the middle without separating it completely.
  • Put 1 tsp of each chutney inside the bun and 1 ball of vada. Close the bun and insert a toothpick to fix the bun.
  • Vada paavo is ready. Serve immediately.
