Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Jackfruit seeds peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup Prawns cleaned
  • 1 piece Ginger chopped
  • 2 nos Green chillies slit
  • 1/2 cup Shallots chopped, Kunjulli
  • 1 tsp Fennel seeds Perum jeerakam
  • 2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1 tsp Pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 2 tbsp Tamarind water
  • Curry leaves As reqd
  • Oil As reqd
  • Water As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing jackfruit seed - chemmeen ularthiyathu, cook jackfruit seeds, prawns, ginger, green chillies, shallots, curry leaves, water and salt.
  • Saute fennel seeds in oil on low flame.
  • Take a bowl, add in coriander powder, turmeric powder, chilly powder, pepper powder, garam masala and tamarind water. Mix well to make a thick paste.
  • Take a vessel and fry the paste in oil.
  • Then add the cooked jackfruit seeds and prawn mixture. Fry well.
  • Jackfruit seed - chemmeen ularthiyathu is ready. Serve hot.
