Ela Ada

A tasty recipe with rice and coconut.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Raw rice
  • 2 cups Coconut grated
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • Water As reqd
  • Plantain leaf cut into small squares

Instructions
 

  • For preparing ela ada, first powder the rice in mixer.
  • Boil 1 1/2 cup water with required salt.
  • When the water starts to boil add the rice powder and knead well.(no lumps)
  • Remove from flame.
  • Take plantain leaf spread little butter. Now spread the rice mixture with hand (thin layer) then spread coconut and sugar.
  • Fold the leaf and arrange all the other leaf in idly steamer and steam for 10 minutes.
  • Ela ada, a tasty sweet snack is ready.
