Seasoned Dried Green Peas

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 kg Dried green peas
  • 1 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup Coconut powder
  • 2 nos Lemon juice
  • Salt As reqd
  • For Seasoning:
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 3 nos Red chillies broken
  • 1/2 tsp Asafoetida powder Kayam
  • 6 nos Green chillies slit
  • 10-15 nos Curry leaves
  • 3 tsp Oil

Instructions
 

  • For preparing seasoned dried green peas, clean, wash and soak green peas overnight.
  • Pressure cook the green peas along with turmeric powder till very soft.
  • Heat oil in a vessel and splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add broken red chillies and asafoetida powder.
  • When brown, add green chillies and curry leaves.
  • Fry for a minute and add boiled green peas and salt.
  • Cook on a low flame till dry. Add coconut powder and mix well.
  • Before serving, add the juice of 2 lemons and mix well.
  • Seasoned dried green peas is ready. Serve hot as a side dish with rice or chapatti
