Chocolate Fudge Cake

Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting

Ingredients
  

  • 1 3/4 cup All purpose flour Maida
  • 2 cups Dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Butter/Margarine
  • 2 nos Eggs beaten
  • 1 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla aroma
  • 4 oz Chocolate melted
  • 1 cup Almonds ground
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp Soda bi carb
  • 1 tsp Salt

For chocolate frosting:-

  • 3 1/2 oz Plain chocolate
  • 2 oz Butter softened
  • 6 oz Icing sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla aroma
  • 1 tbsp Milk

Instructions
 

  • Grease and flour a 9`` cake pan. Pre heat oven to 350c.
  • Measure flour after seiving.
  • Blend flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.
  • Add soft butter, milk and vanilla. Beat in mixer for 2 or more minutes until pale. :- scrape bottom and sides of bowl constantly.
  • Add eggs and melted chocolate. Beat for 2 more minutes.
  • Stir in almond nuts and bake for 45 to 50 minutes.
  • Bake until the cake is well risen and springs back when touched.
  • Cool in tin. Split the cake into two.
  • For the frosting, melt chocolate with butter in a small pan on low heat. Remove from heat and add icing sugar, vanilla and milk. Beat until smooth.
  • Sandwich the cake with half the frosting, then spread the remaining on top and side of cake.
