Toasted bread in milk syrup, garnished with almonds & silver paper - North Indian Shahi Tukda

- 8 - Bread slices
- 4 cups Milk
- Cardamom(Elakka) powder
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- Ghee
- Cashewnuts
- Almonds
- Raisins(Kismis)
- Silver paper
Cut the bread slices into 6 pieces.
Fry them in ghee in a pan with ghee evenly on both sides of the pieces and fry till golden brown & stiff. Keep it aside.
Boil the milk & add the cardamom powder & reduce milk to 1/4 which will take 15 minutes stirring it to make it thick.
Add the sugar.
:- It has to be very sweet.
Add the bread.
Fry nuts, raisins & badam(broken into pieces) in ghee & add it to the milk.
When its cool, refrigerate it.
Garnish it with silver paper & almonds or pistachios.
