Kadala Curry Easy

A delicious side dish for Puttu

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup Kadala Black Channa
  • 1/2 of Coconut
  • 1 no Onion
  • 1 spoon Coriander powder
  • 1 spoon Chilli powder
  • 1/4 spoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 spoon Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • Curry leaves As reqd
  • Coconut oil As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Soak kadala in water for atleast 8 hrs and pressure cook it.
  • Heat coconut oil in a pan.
  • Add cumin seeds, onion and finally coconut and fry well till it turns brown.
  • Add coriander powder, turmeric powder and chilli powder to it and mix well.
  • Allow it to cool and grind it.
  • Add the ground paste to kadala and cook it.
  • Add required salt to taste.
  • In a pan, saute chopped onion and curry leaves in coconut oil and add to kadala.
