Chakkakuru-Manga Curry

Ingredients
  

  • 1 no Unripe green mango cut into medium size pieces
  • 2 cups Jackfruit seeds(washed, cleaned and cut into thin juliennes) Chakka kuru
  • 2 nos Green chillies slit
  • 3/4 cup Grated coconut ground into a smooth paste
  • 3/4 tsp Red chilly powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 2 nos Red chillies Kollamulaku
  • 2 nos Shallots chopped, Kunjulli
  • Curry leaves A sprig
  • Oil As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Cook jackfruit seeds along with 1 cup water, green chillies and salt on a medium heat.
  • When they are half done, add raw mangoes, turmeric powder and red chilly powder and cook until they are soft and tender.
  • Add ground coconut and mix well.
  • Let it come to a slow boil.
  • Switch of the heat and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in another pan.
  • Allow mustard seeds to splutter.
  • Add red chillies, shallots and curry leaves and fry until they are brown.
  • Pour this seasoning over the curry.
  • :- Serve with rice.
