Ingredients
  

  • 250 g Snake gourd Padavalanga
  • 1/2 of Coconut grated
  • 4 nos Garlic cloves
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 3 nos Green chillies
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves Few
  • Salt As reqd
  • 3 tbsp Coconut oil
  • 2 nos Dry red chillies Kollamulaku
  • 2 tsp Rice Pachari/Puzhukkalari

Instructions
 

  • For preparing Snake Gourd-Padavalanga Thoran, first remove seeds and other stuff from inside the snake gourd.
  • Clean it well and chop it finely. Keep this aside.
  • Place together the grated coconut, green chillies, garlic, turmeric powder, curry leaves and cumin seeds in a mixer bowl and run it once to make it into a coarse form.
  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Splutter mustard seeds and saute red chillies, rice and curry leaves.
  • Add the chopped veg followed by the coconut mixture and salt.
  • Mix well the whole thing.
  • Cover and cook for about 5 mins.
  • Remove the lid and continue cooking on a low flame till Snake Gourd-Padavalanga Thoran is done.
