Poha Easy

A spicy North Indian dish with Beaten rice (Poha/Aval)

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Beaten rice Aval/Poha
  • 1 no Onion chopped, medim
  • 1 no Potato chopped, medium
  • 2 nos Green chillies chopped
  • 2 tbsp Peanuts Nelakadala
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice

For garnishing:-

  • 2 tsp Coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 2 nos Masala papad roasted on fire
  • 2 tbsp Khatta meetha namkeen

Instructions
 

  • Take beaten rice in a sieve and wet it under running water.
  • Keep it aside to drain out excess water for a minute.
  • Add chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt into it and mix well.
  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Add peanuts and fry for a min.
  • Add onion and potatoes and saute well for 2 mins on a medium flame.
  • Add chopped green chillies and cumin seeds.
  • Saute and cook the potatoes.
  • Add the beaten rice and lemon juice.
  • Saute well on a low flame.
  • Switch off the flame before it starts sticking to the pan.
  • Add sugar and saute once.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander, crushed papad and namkeen.
  • :- Serve hot.
