Potato curry - Aloo ki Sabji

Ingredients
  

  • 1 no Onion finely chopped, large
  • 2 nos Potato large
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 2 tbsp Tomato puree
  • Salt As reqd
  • Curry leaves A few
  • Asafoetida A pinch, Kayam

Instructions
 

  • Boil the potatoes, till they become tender and cut them into medium sized pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add cumin seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves.
  • Add chopped onion and fry, till they turn golden brown.
  • Add tomato puree, chilly powder, turmeric powder and saute for 1 min.
  • Add potatoes and salt.
  • Mix well.
  • Add garam masala powder and mix well again.
