Arrowroot Halwa Easy
An authentic dish from Malabar made with Arrowroot(Koova)

- 100 gm Arrowroot powder Koova
- 500 gm Jaggery Sharkkara
- Nuts As reqd
- Raisins As reqd, Onakka munthiri
- Coconut chips from 1/2 of one coconut
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- Water about 1 ltr
Mix the arrowroot powder with water to form a watery solution.
Add jaggery cubes.
Fry the coconut pieces, nuts and raisins in 1 tbsp of ghee.
Add it to the mixture of arrowroot powder and water.
Transfer the whole thing into a heavy bottomed flat vessel.
Cook on medium flame, till the mix thickens, stirring all the while.
When the halwa starts thickening to a translucent texture and leaves the sides of the pan, transfer it to a flat dish greased with 1 tbsp of ghee.
Allow it to cool.
Cut into shapes of your choice.
