Pacha Mango Choru

Mangalapuram recipe - rice dish with raw mango slices

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Parboiled rice or basmati rice use white rice, if parboiled
  • 100 gm Very slightly raw and ripe mango sliced lengthwise
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/2 tsp Fenugreek Uluva
  • 1 tsp Black gram Uzhunnuparippu
  • 1 tsp Green chillies sliced
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • Salt As reqd
  • Oil As reqd
  • 20 gm Ground nuts roasted, Nelakadala
  • 2 sprigs Curry leaves
  • 2 nos Dry red chillies Kollamulaku

Instructions
 

  • Cook rice(not sticky) and keep aside.
  • :- Mango slices can be roasted or can be dried in hot sun.
  • Roast cumin and powder it.
  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add fenugreek, curry leaves, green chillies and red chillies and roast it.
  • Add cumin powder and mix well.
  • Add cooked rice and mango slices to this and mix thoroughly.
  • Garnish with roasted groundnuts and curry leaves.
