Tomato Dal

Tomato and Red gram(Thuvaraparippu) curry

Ingredients
  

  • 4 nos Red tomato
  • 300 gm Red gram Thuvaraparippu
  • 3 nos Green chillies
  • 1/2 tsp Asafoetida Kayam
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves A few
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 tsp Ghee

Instructions
 

  • Pressure cook dal upto 3 - 4 whistles.
  • Mash the dal well and keep it aside.
  • Heat a tsp of ghee.
  • Splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add asafoetida and saute it.
  • Add cut tomatoes, curry leaves and green chillies.
  • Cover and cook, till the tomatoes are done.
  • Add the mashed dal and mix well.
  • :- Serve hot with rice or rotis.
