Easy Yummy Mother`s Dal

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups Red gram Thuvaraparippu
  • 2 1/2 cups Water
  • 5 nos Green chillies chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Turmeric powder A pinch
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 8 nos Curry leaves
  • 1/2 cup Coriander leaves chopped
  • 1 cup Yoghurt/Curd
  • 1 tsp Olive oil or Ghee
  • 2 nos Tomato sliced

Instructions
 

  • Cook the red gram or dal in a pressure cooker, upto 3 whistles.
  • After opening the lid, add ginger paste, garlic paste, green chillies, turmeric powder, tomatoes, curry leaves and cumin seeds.
  • Allow it to boil.
  • Add salt and yoghurt and boil again.
  • Add a tsp of olive oil or ghee.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  • :- Serve with fried fish or any other vegetable dish. :- You need not season this dal. :- If you want it`s consistency to be dilute, add more water, before adding salt and yoghurt.
